An animation inspired by hangul and Hallyu

About the concept

As the title suggests I used the term "Korean Wave" as inspiration for the animation. You might wonder what the term means; the Korean wave is the international recognition and spread of Korean culture that we can observe from the end of the 90s. The most popular example is the rise in popularity of the music genre K-POP. With that growth in interest comes an increase in people learning the language and thus the Korean alphabet.

Animation

Because this was an exercise/assignment, I chose to use typography instead of a character-driven story. That way I had more freedom with the animation instead of focussing on the storyline. I used a bold display font to accentuate the beautiful Korean characters and to highlight their modern look.
